About the gallery
The Emma Butler Gallery provides a space for artists, art collectors, art appreciators, and the curious to share in the love of art. Founded by Emma Dalton Butler in 1987, the gallery was established to specialize in contemporary and historical art. Under the current director, Alison Butler, that tradition continues.
The Emma Butler Gallery is situated in historic downtown St. John's in an award-winning heritage building specifically designed as an art gallery. The first and second floor galleries present the work and exhibitions of leading and emerging contemporary artists in Canada and noted international artists.
